NOOO! Say it ain’t so! :(
Edited to add - Is the USO cyber canteen still open?
Wait, ORD has a nonrev lounge? Must be an AA-only thing... would have been nice with all the time I've spent out there, though!
The USO is gone from L also.
Brian, the non-rev lounge at ORD was great!
Computers
Huge windows
Restrooms
TV area
Vending machines
Microwave
Children’s play area (with games)
What I’ll remember most
Suitcase forts
Piles of ‘snoring’ blankets on cots :D
Makeshift tents
Giordano’s pizzas that didn’t make it on the plane (that microwave came in handy)
And
Three little girls jumping around and singing “I don’t wanna be a chicken, I don’t wanna be a duck“ to a room full of AA‘ers and active duty service members -- the girls received a standing ovation.
From what I've heard, they are closing ALL the non-rev lounges. :( Thanks Doug!
DFW is gone too.
I'm curious what the pricing will be on that... Heck, even $500 sounds ok to hop over to Chicago every weekend and have some drinks.
i hear that if you nonrev and happen to get a first class confirmed seat in F class, you can use the lounges at the airport, but has anyone ever gotten a comfirmed fc seat ticket to show to the airport clubs? seems everytime I got them was basically just before you board.....kind of a catch 22.
Not true unfortunately. Nonrevs do not get club access. Only exception is an AA20 discounted revenue ticket. I only once got a confirmed BC ticket on a SCL-MIA flight on check-in. The flight was wide open but the BC cabin ended up going out fairly full.
If we have a J boarding pass receipt, we can visit the SkyClub, space available (even post flight). We have access to it now, with our Amex but it used to be a rare treat.
Since this was posted in the AA forum, I was referring only to AA policy. I do not know what the policy is at other airlines.
Yea, ok, gotcha.
